Another edition of Tozer Tuesdays, prayers from his book The Pursuit of God They have profoundly impacted me and I hope they challenge and move you as you pray them too.
Lord, teach me to listen. The times are noisy and my ears are weary with the thousand raucous sounds which continuously assault them. Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to Thee, “Speak, for Thy servant heareth.” Let me hear thee speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Thy voice, that it’s tones may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking voice.
Amen

Hey Lee! I decided to read the Pursuit of God after you started Tozer Tuesdays. What an incredible book! Thanks for showing this to everyone. I’m about to start on The Knowledge of the Holy and really looking forward to another incredible book by Tozer.
That’s great Ryan! I read most of The Pursuit of God in tears. It rocked my world.
Yes, yes, yes! Thanks for posting, Lee!
Love these, man. But you need to branch out eventually. Tozer’s got so many gems in everything he writes, that paragraphs from his articles (like those in Man, the Dwelling Place of God. And The Radical Cross)
His prayers in knowledge of the Holy are excellent as well. Not as experiential as the Pursuit of God, but they have a wonderfully high view of God.
Thanks for posting these and keep it up!
