A few weeks ago, I made the decision to go a little more analog. I wanted to look at my phone less, be present more, and experience things like paper books, fresh air, and hand writing notes, stories, and poetry. To that end, I bought a Moleskine journal and a pen to keep with me instead of pulling out my phone to put notes in my Notability app.
There’s something about taking notes down by hand that decreases distractions and helps me to retain the information better. I also find myself getting creative and making doodles in my notebook during downtime instead of trolling Facebook.
I decided to invest in my little notebook by buying a cover to go over it. While searching Amazon, I came across this beautiful, handmade leather cover. It’s a true artisan piece! It also has extra pockets for cards, phone, iPad, etc (I keep some business cards and a 2nd notebook in mine).
When it arrived, the feel and smell of the leather took me back to simpler times and slower paces. It’s “crazy horse” leather (usually used to make saddles) and changes color when it bends or bulges. It’s gorgeous! I get compliments on it all the time.
Anyway, I was so impressed by it that I thought I’d grab a 2nd one to give to one of my readers. (The picture above is the actual cover I’m giving away.)
I set up a little giveaway page where you can enter the drawing and get a chance for extra entrees by telling your friends. I’m also giving away a free ebook copy of one of my books just for entering! It’s a win win! But you better hurry, the contest closes on April 29th!
Best of luck to you!
